Victorian 10kt Star Motif Double Strand Chain Link Necklace 31.5"
A gorgeous double strand muff chain necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in 10kt rosy yellow gold, this elegant design consists of two strands of hollow box links, each one adorned with a fabulous star motif on all four sides. The hinged box links are smoothly polished on each side and the delicate cutout star motif features six points, creating a fantastic eye-catching appeal. Both strands meet at a decorative push clasp embellished with an etched floral motif on either side, which is framed within a lovely ornate border. The chain can be worn long, doubled up, or paired with a complimentary pendant and the beautiful clasp can face forward or rest at the back, creating wonderful versatility. A marvelous Victorian piece, it would look perfect worn day or night and make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 31.5" long. Each hollow box link measures approximately 2mm wide and tall, and together the double strand measures about 4mm wide. The overall pennyweight of the piece is 15.00dwt (23.4 grams).
Condition: The overall condition of the chain necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the gold links. There is a section of approximately 3 box links which show some minor indentation/wear, however, due to the small size of the links, the wear is not noticeable when worn. The clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition.
