A gorgeous beaded briolette necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful piece is comprised of a combination of varying gold and amethyst beads, which alternate to form a beautiful, flowing pattern. The faceted amethyst spacer beads, or rondels, are round in shape and display lovely shades of purple, catching the light at every turn. The diamond-shaped gold beads are adorned with beautiful applied Etruscan wirework that creates wonderful dimension and texture, and have a "bloomed" appearance. The beaded necklace boasts a large, deep purple, amethyst briolette pendant that is faceted on all sides and complete with a matching Etruscan gold bail and cap. The necklace is hand strung on a matching gold chain and has a simple spring ring closure which is marked "14k" for purity. The pendant's bail is also marked "14k" for purity. When worn, it drapes beautifully and makes a lovely statement. An elegant piece, this gorgeous necklace would be perfect worn for special occasions!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 23" long. The amethyst rondels measure approximately 6.8mm in diameter. The briolette itself measures 2" long, including the bail.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the amethyst or gold beads, all of which are securely strung. The clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition.
