Victorian 14kt Amethyst + Etruscan Bead Necklace 28.5"
A gorgeous beaded necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful piece is comprised of a combination of two varying gold beads and a trio of amethyst beads, which alternate to form a beautiful, flowing pattern. The faceted amethyst beads are round in shape and display lovely shades of purple, catching the light at every turn. Sixteen of the gold beads are adorned with beautiful applied Etruscan wirework that creates wonderful dimension and texture, while the remaining eight, which are slightly larger and elongated, have a smoothly polished surface. The necklace is hand strung on silver wire and a clasp disguised as a final gold bead rests at the back, and is stamped "14K." When worn, it drapes beautifully and makes a lovely statement. An elegant piece, this gorgeous necklace would be perfect worn everyday or for special occasions!
Measurements: The necklace measures 28.5" long. The amethyst beads measure approximately 9mm in diameter. The larger, smoothly polished beads measure 8mm long and 7mm wide. The smaller Etruscan beads measures 6mm in diameter.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the amethyst or gold beads, all of which are securely strung. The clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition.
