Victorian 14kt Carved Onyx + Black Enamel Dangle Earrings
A gorgeous pair of onyx earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each earring is crafted in 14kt yellow gold and carved onyx, and is beautifully decorated with black enameled detail. The earrings have a 3-dimensional design and hang from a triangular shaped topper. Dangling freely at the bottom is a tulip-shaped onyx plaque, displaying a rich black color and glossy finish. The onyx plaque features a circular cut out at the center, which connects to a gorgeous gold and black enamel striped loop. The enameled topper features two polished beads on either side and an etched floral motif decorates the cutout space below. The rich, black color of the onyx and enamel pairs perfectly against the polished yellow gold setting, creating a stunning look when worn. A lovely wirework design rests atop the surmount, which is attached to a simple earring wire that clasps securely at the back. These gorgeous and elegant earrings look absolutely stunning and would make a fabulous addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 1 7/8" long (including the wires), and measures about 5/8" wide and 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The onyx stones and enamel work are free of chips or scratches, and the earring wires are in good working condition.
