Victorian 14kt Carved Tiger's Eye "Man in the Moon" Cufflinks
A rare and unusual pair of cufflinks from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each double-sided cufflink has two carved tiger's eye stones with a "Man in the Moon" motif. The recognizable design has intricately carved facial features, giving the faces a 3-dimensional appearance. The tiger's eye stones are striped with rich brown and iridescent caramel colors that flash when turned in the light. The carved stones are bezel set and separated by a gold bar the center. Stamped inside each cufflink is "SN- 14K". A very unique pair of cufflinks, they could be worn by a woman or man, and would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each cufflink face has a 1/2" diameter and is approximately 1/4" thick. The cufflinks measure 3/4" long overall from end to end.
Condition: The overall condition of the cufflinks is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or carved tiger's eye stones, which are secure and intact. There is a natural untouched patina on the surface of the gold, which is normal for an antique piece.
