Victorian 14kt Diamond Nail + Sterling Garnet Skull Pendant Compilation Necklace 30"
A fabulous compilation necklace! This bold piece features two Victorian (1880s) era pendants, a 14kt yellow gold nail and a sterling silver skull with sparkling red garnet eyes. The two-tone nail is substantially sized with an elongated shape and is encrusted with 11 sparkling old Rose Cut diamonds surrounded by lovely milgrain. It is marked "585WB" on the back and attached to the chain with a discrete bail behind its head. The skull is finely detailed in its anatomy, adorning two deep red garnet eyes, and capped with a gold bail and ring to secure it to the chain. The two pendants dangle from a modern twisted rope chain marked "14K" and secures at a lobster clasp marked "BREV" and "14K". This very fashionable piece is a perfect culmination of old and new and would look wonderful in any Victorian or modern collection.
Measurements: The twisted rope chain measures 30" long. The nail pendant itself measures 2 1/2" long, nearly 5/16" wide at the head, slightly more than 1/16" at its tip. The skull measures about 3/8 at its widest point, 3/4" long (including the bail, excluding the hanging ring), and is 1/4" thick.
Condition: The necklace and its pendants are in overall excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the nail or to the skull. The diamonds and garnets are all securely set within their respective pendants. The chain and its lobster clasp are secure and in good working condition.
