Victorian 14kt Etched Double-Sided Heart Locket
A stunning gold locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful heart-shaped piece is made of 14kt yellow gold, and is particularly large in size. Both sides of the heart are etched with a swirled motif that is simply spectacular! The locket opens to reveal a beautiful engine turned design covering the inside of both "doors," where a pair of special photographs can be stored. Stamped inside the locket is a "14K" gold purity mark. At the top of the piece is a gold loop and bail, making it easy to hang and wear from a favorite chain. A simply stunning Victorian piece, it has a timeless look and would make a wonderful addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The locket hangs 1 7/8" long, including the bail at the top. The heart measures 1 1/2" tall, 1 3/8" wide, and 1/8" thick. The total pennyweight of the piece is 7.1 dwt (10.9 grams).
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or etched details. The bail at the top is securely attached. The locket opens easily, and snaps securely shut.
