Victorian 14kt Gold & Diamond Lion's Head Locket
An exquisite raised lion's head locket from the Victorian (ca 1880) era! This stunning piece portrays the fierce repousse head of a lion which has fiery red ruby eyes and a single diamond clenched in between his front teeth. There are also engraved fancy script initials on the back of the piece. This fabulous piece would make a lovely addition to any fine Victorian collection.
Measurements: The locket hangs 1 7/8" long, measures 1 1/2" in diameter, and is 1/2" at the thickest point.
Condition: The piece remains in good antique condition. There is some light surface wear to the gold, which is commensurate with age, but no significant dents or scratches to the setting. The diamond and rubies are intact and securely set. The locket closes securely, however, there is a slight gap once closed, which is not unusual for a locket of this age.
