Victorian 14kt Gold Repousse Diamond Hunting Dog Locket
A beautiful gold locket from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in vibrant 14kt yellow gold, this lovely piece has the charming image of a dog's head on the front. The raised image is intricately detailed and shows the dog's head in profile, complete with textured fur and a sparkling diamond to depict its eye. The collared dog appears to be a hunting hound, and the locket opens to reveal space for storing special photographs inside. At the top of the piece is a gold jump ring, stamped "14K", forming a simple bail. This locket is beautifully made and would look lovely worn on a gold chain. Measurements: The locket hangs 1 3/8" long, has a diameter of 1" and is 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides minimal, normal surface wear, is no apparent damage to the gold setting or bail. The diamond is intact and securely set. The locket opens easily and closes securely.
