Victorian 14kt Gold Signet Band with Mermaids
A signet ring can be represented by a smooth or engraved seal, or with an intaglio, which is created by carving into the surface of a stone. Its purpose would have been to seal the wax of a letter or note.
A stunning gold signet ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This ring, which is made of 14kt yellow gold has an oval-shaped face with a smooth center. The surface is smooth, allowing one to add their own initials or simply leave it smooth. On each side of the signet is a romantic mermaid which has raised arms and draping atop her body. This fabulous ring would make a beautiful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The signet stamp measures 3/8" tall and a little less than 3/8” wide. The ring has a finger size 8.5, but could easily be resized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold.
