Victorian 14kt Gold & Tortoise Shell Hoop Earrings
Now a banned material, Antique tortoise shell jewelry has become very collectable. These hoop earrings, in particular, are simply wonderful and from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each begins with a tortoise shell ball surmount, which is attached to 14kt yellow gold, clasped earring wires. Hanging from the bead is a tortoise shell block, which has a hoop running through its center. Freely dangling in the center of the hoop is a second tortoise shell ball. The tortoise shell is fairly dark in color and has wonderful hues of caramels and ambers that can be seen throughout each earring. They're light to wear and look beautiful on. These stunning earrings are simply beautiful and would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs a little less than 2 7/8" long. The hoop has an outer diameter of 1 3/8” and an inner diameter of 1 1/8”.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is great. There are a couple very minor and unnoticeable chips on one of the tortoise blocks however they do not take away from the beauty of the earrings. Other than this, there is no serious damage to the earrings and the gold wires are secure and in good working condition.
