A stunning pair of gutta-percha earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! These unique earring are comprised of hand-carved gutta-percha links with 14kt yellow gold connector loops and accents. Each earring dangles a trio of elongated pyramidal-shaped links from a gorgeous rectangular topper, creating a fabulous architectural appeal. Embellishing the base of each graduated link is row of yellow gold studs that also adorn the 3-dimensional cube that hangs at the top of the central link. The stunning topper is decorated with two matching gold accents on the front adorned with delicate milgrain work, adding a soft feminine touch. Similar embellishment is found on the gold loop at the center of the lines, which is attached to a simple earring wire at the top. The earringsdangle with lovely movement, and the contrast between the vibrant yellow gold and the dark matte gutta-percha is fabulous. Lightweight for comfortable wear, these marvelous earrings frame the face beautifully and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 1/2" long (including the wire at the top), is 3/4" wide, and about 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gutta-percha or to the yellow gold accents. The earring wires are both secure and in good working condition.
