Victorian 14kt Large Cabochon Garnet Conversion Ring
A gorgeous garnet ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Originally an antique pin, it has been transformed into a striking centerpiece on a handmade band, making it a beautiful conversion piece! The stunning oval-shaped cabochon is set at the center of a rich 14kt yellow gold matte setting. The garnet is bezel set and is quite substantial in size, exhibiting a deep, rich red color. Finishing the design is a smooth band that wraps around the back and stamped inside the shank is a "14K gold purity mark" beside a small maker's hallmark. When worn, the ring makes a prominent statement and is perfect for the garnet lover's collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 6.5, but could be resized if desired. The centerpiece measures 7/8" tall, 5/8" wide, and rests 1/2" high above the finger when worn. The band at the back measures 3mm wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. The garnet is intact and securely set, and remains free of chips or surface scratches. Given the Victorian age of the piece, there is a very tiny crack to one side of the gold bezel setting, however it is not noticeable when worn.
