Victorian 14kt Mixed Metals Diamond + Ruby Anchor Ring
A beautiful mixed metals anchor ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This gorgeous piece is crafted in 14kt rose gold and adorns a raised anchor motif at the center of a highly decorative wide band. Resting on either side of the horizontally facing anchor is a sparkling accent old Rose Cut diamond and a faceted raspberry red ruby, adding a wonderful pop of color to the design. A sterling silver "rope" wraps around the anchor from head to crown, creating a wonderful mixed metals appeal and lovely carved flowers grace the sides of the band, which is embellished with a dotted textured surface. Various colors of gold overlay decorate the flowers including vibrant yellow, soft green, and rose golds, beautifully completing the mixed metals design. The band graduates slightly towards the back, finishing with a smoothly polished surface, and stamped inside of the shank is a "14" gold purity mark. It is a lovely example of Victorian artistry and would make a wonderful keepsake addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 6.75 but could be resized slightly. The front of the band measures approximately 3/8" wide and rests 1/8" above the finger when worn. The graduated band measures 4mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and sterling silver setting. Both the diamond and ruby are intact and securely set.
