Victorian 14kt Natural Opal Cabochon Ring 4ctw
A gorgeous opal ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This exquisite piece is crafted in 14kt rosy yellow gold and adorns a stunning oval cabochon that rests at the center of a decorative mounting. The oval-shaped stone has an approximate weight of 4ctw and displays an array of iridescent colors that boldly flash in the light, exhibiting an incredible ensemble of vivid red, green, blue, yellow, orange and violet hues. The multi-prong setting creates a feminine scalloped edge around the opal, which is flanked by a lovely complimentary shell-like motif on each shoulder. Finishing the design is a smooth band accented by a shallow groove at the center that wraps around the back. A truly spectacular opal piece, this ring makes a striking statement when worn!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of scant 6.25 but could be re-sized if desired. The opal centerpiece measures slightly more than 1/2" tall, about 3/8" wide, and rests 3/8" above the finger when worn. The band at the back measures 3.5mm wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and the opal stone is intact and securely set.
