Victorian 14kt/Sterling + Rose Cut Diamond Pendant Necklace 16"
A gorgeous diamond pendant necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful piece is crafted in sterling silver topped with 14kt yellow gold, and carries a simple yet elegant mixed metals design. A single old Rose Cut diamond adorns the center of the round pendant, sparkling beautifully in the light with every turn. The bezel set stone appears to "float" at the center of two graduated open circle links, which display a smoothy polished finish. A delicate yellow gold looped topper is attached to the fluted bail, allowing the pendant to hang beautifully at the center of a modern chain. The delicate, interlocking link chain fastens in the back with a spring ring clasp, and displays a darkened sterling sliver surface, creating a perfect contrast to the pendant. A perfect everyday necklace, this Victorian piece blends seamlessly into modern day fashion and would make a gorgeous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 16" long. The pendant hangs about 7/8" long (including the bail at the top), measures 3/8" in diameter, and is about 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and sterling silver setting or chain. The diamond is intact and securely set and the clasp and bail are secure and in good working condition. Due to the hand cut nature of old Rose Cut diamonds, the shape of the stones do not have perfect symmetry. This reflects the age and genuine appearance of antique diamonds.
