An absolutely incredible micro mosaic pin/locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! The beautiful piece is made of vibrant 15k yellow gold and an exceptional micro mosaic picture details the front. Tiny tiles with vivid colors of glass have been hand set into the ornate image of two doves. The birds are beautifully detailed and flies amongst bunches of grapes, with a background of bright blue tiles. The image is framed by a milgrain accented orange and white enamel tile border. The backside of the locket is a glass covered locket face which is ready to house a photo or memento of your choice. Dangling from the locket are three foxtails, also accented with red, white and blue micro mosaic tiles. The top of the pendant features gold wirework embellished bail that is generous enough to fit on a wide chain. The pendant is suspended from a contemporary 14k gold (marked) chain and is ready to wear. It's a fantastic micro mosaic piece and would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: The micro mosaic pin/pendant hangs 2" long, is a little less than 3/4" at the widest point, and has a depth of a little more than 1/4". The chain measures 19" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is good. The locket shows some signs of wear to the mosaic on the lower half of the pendant's border. It is difficult to see when worn, and this appears to be the only damage to the mosaic itself. The main image appears to be in original condition. The locket's frame and crystal are secure and in good condition, and the chain's spring ring is secure.
