Victorian 15kt Garnet Cabochon Foxtail Fringe Earrings
An absolutely gorgeous pair of garnet earrings from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in rich 15kt yellow gold, each of these dramatic earrings holds a large open backed cabochon garnet stone at the center. The garnet rests in a gold bezel which is framed with a beautiful twisted wire design, a subtle yet rich textural detail. Dangling from the bottom of each earring is a fabulous foxtail fringe design comprised of seven graduated gold chain links with speared ends. The earrings hang from a decorative clover motif topper which attaches to a simple gold earring wire, allowing them to dangle with lovely movement. The elaborate design has a very elegant look which is striking when worn. They would make a wonderful addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 1/2" in total length, measures approximately 5/8" at the widest point and has a depth of 3/8".
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the garnet stones or to the gold setting, foxtail fringe or wires.
