Victorian 15kt Genuine Gold Nugget Link Bracelet 26.4dwt
An incredible gold nugget bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! This unusual piece is crafted with 15kt yellow gold and adorns seven genuine 24kt yellow gold nuggets, which would have likely been collectable souvenirs from the Californian or Alaskan gold rush. Each nugget appears to almost "float" within an open circle link, which attach together to form a straight but flexible design. The open setting showcases their natural, uniquely shaped formations that vary slightly in size, except for the central nugget, which is larger than the rest. A set of connector loops attach each link together, meeting in the back at a decorative push clasp and safety chain. The round clasp is embellished with a lovely etched perimeter and two sets of initials, one on the front "FE" and "DEK" on the back, both in a beautiful script. It is a beautifully hand-crafted piece that would look lovely worn alone or layered with other bracelets!
Measurements: The entire length of the bracelet measures approximately 7" long. The larger central link measures 7/8" in diameter and is about 1/4" thick. The rest of the links measures approximately 5/8" in diameter and are about 1/8" thick. The overall pennyweight of the piece is 26.4dwt (40.8 grams).
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the yellow gold setting or gold nuggets. The push clasp and safety chain are secure and in good working order.
