Victorian 15kt Gold Scottish Agate, Citrine & Garnet Earrings

SKU: 0247

Beautiful agate earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This stunning pair of Scottish agate earrings portray a 15kt yellow gold shield which hangs from a gold earring wire. A single citrine stone rests at the surmount which is prong set and has a flat gold frame. The gold crest hangs from the citrine surmount and has cutout details and an oval shaped citrine stone set in the center. On the surface of the earrings are 6 pieces of Scottish agate which vary in color and shape. Each is set in a raised manner and vary in type, including carnelian, white banded agate, bloodstone and moss agate stones. The surface of the gold has a simple and ornate etched design which compliments the agate stones wonderfully and 3 cabochon garnets rest along the crown of the shield. The back of each earring is marked with a makers mark; please see images. They are simply lovely and would make a fabulous addition to any collection!

Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 1 3/4" long, 3/4" at the widest point and have a depth of 1/4".

Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the agate or to the gold earring or wires. All of the citrine stones and garnets are intact.
