Victorian 15kt Rock Crystal, Emerald + Diamond Earring & Necklace Set
A beautiful and unusual carved rock crystal set from the late Victorian (ca1900s) era! This stunning 2-piece set is comprised of dangling earrings and a matching pendant that hangs from a fine gold chain. All three pieces display a complementary design featuring a light-catching rock crystal cabochon which rests within a gold bezel setting. The open backed setting is encircled by a rich gold frame adorned with an alternating design of sparkling old Rose Cut diamonds and luscious emeralds. The earrings dangle freely from simple gold wires and the pendant attaches to a gold bail which hangs from a fine 14kt yellow gold chain, securing at a barrel clasp in the back. The beautiful design creates a wonderful light-catching appearance and the set makes a fabulous statement when worn. It is a fantastic example of Victorian-era jewelry and would be a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 1 3/16" long, including the wires, and measures slightly less than 7/8" in diameter and 5/16" in depth. The necklace chain measures 15.5" long, and the pendant hangs 1 1/8" long at the center, and measures slightly less than 7/8" in diameter and 5/16" in depth.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace and earring set is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold settings. The rock crystals, emeralds and diamonds are intact and securely set. The earring wires, chain and barrel clasp are secure and in good working order.
