Victorian 15kt Sterling Topped Diamond Sunburst Pin/Pendant 7+ctw
An absolutely exquisite diamond encrusted sunburst pin/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! This stunning piece is comprised of 77 bead set diamonds that surround a single, larger old Mine Cushion Cut diamond at the center, creating an incredibly sparkling array. The sunburst has 16 alternating wavy rays, eight holding five diamonds and the remaining adorned with four, collectively giving the piece a total approximate weight of a little over 7.00ctw (including the large center stone which weighs approximately 1.00ctw). The pin/pendant is crafted in 15kt yellow gold topped with sterling silver which was a common style for the Victorian era, and has a wonderful convex shape and open back, allowing the diamonds to sparkle beautifully with every turn. The back reveals a flip-down bail as well as a secure pin clasp, giving it the option to be worn as a pin or pendant. The piece looks absolutely stunning on and would make a fantastic addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: The sunburst itself measures approximately 1 1/2" tall and wide, with an approximate depth of 1/4". When worn as a pendant, the piece hangs approximately 1 7/8" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin/pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and silver setting and all of the diamonds are intact. The pin clasp and flip-down bail are secure and in good working condition.
