A magnificent Turquoise pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Made of 18k yellow gold, the piece is oval in shape and particularly large in size. A wonderful design of rows of pavé (French for "cobblestone") set turquoise stones, creating a convex oval shape. The rows of turquoise are separated by gold, adding bright flashes of rich warm tones amidst a sea of blues. In the center of the pendant rests a single 4mm turquoise cabochon in its own fluted gold bezel. A marvelous frame borders the outermost row of turquoise, intricately detailed with a twisted rope pattern that forms a chain. The piece hangs from a large bail and would look fantastic worn hanging from a long gold chain. This eye catching piece has a fabulous look that would make a perfect addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs 2" long including the bail, is 1 1/2" wide and approximately 1/4" thick. The bail's opening measures just under 1/4" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the turquoise stones, which are intact and the bail is intact and in good working condition.
