Victorian 18kt Gold Mining Pan + Genuine Gold Nugget Cufflinks
A wonderful and artistic pair of cufflinks from the Victorian (ca1880) era! These double-sided 18kt yellow gold cufflinks are a creative ode to panning for gold. One side is formed into a shallow "pan" with authentic yellow gold nuggets resting on the bottom, a lovely realistic detail! On the other side is a larger genuine nugget decorating the center of a polished, round disc. The 22kt gold nuggets would have most likely been a collectable souvenir from the California or Alaska gold rush, and due to their natural formation, each one is uniquely shaped and varies slightly in size. Connecting each link together is a yellow gold bar on the back, and stamped underneath is "DIMENT," and "18K." These unique cufflinks are rich in American history and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The face of each round link measures a little more than 1/2" in diameter and is approximately 1/16" thick. The space in between each cufflink (where the gold loop connectors are attached) measures approximately 3/4" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the cufflinks is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The authentic nuggets are intact and securely set. The gold connector links in the back are securely attached.
