A gorgeous pair of onyx and diamond studs from the Victorian (ca1880) era! These unusual earrings are crafted in 18kt gold, and a have a simple, yet striking design. Each earring features a stunning old Cushion Mine Cut diamond that is framed above a carved onyx base. The diamonds weigh approximately 1.70ctw combined, and have estimated J-K range color and SI1-SI2 range clarity. The carved onyx stones are concave at the center, and display a rich black color, with a smoothly polished glossy finish. Completing the design are simple gold posts and earring backs (marked "750"). When worn, the dramatic contrast between the solid black onyx and sparkling diamonds is simply breathtaking! Measurements: Each earring stud measures approximately 3/8" in diameter, and rests 5/16" high.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold posts or backs, which are secure. The onyx stones and diamonds are securely set, and free of any apparent surface chips or scratches.
