Victorian 18kt Ruby + Diamond Double Snake Ring

SKU: PMP377

$3,295
The snake has been a powerful image since the Victorian era and continues to be popular even in modern jewelry. It has been an inspiration for jewelry design for ages, often used to symbolize eternity, everlasting love, life and protection.

This gorgeous double snake ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era is quite a fabulous piece! Crafted in vibrant 18kt yellow gold, the design features two intertwined snakes that have a lovely 3-dimensional look. The snakes' bodies act as the band of the ring, as their heads meet at the center and the tip of each tail overlaps at the sides, adding to the visual beauty and detail of the ring. Both snakes have lovely gemstone eyes, one with two luscious rubies, the other with two sparkling old Rose Cut diamonds. An engraved groove forms a slightly open mouth, a perfect finishing touch, and stamped inside the shank are multiple English hallmarks, including a crown, a shield, "18", and several other small symbols. A wonderful everyday piece, this attractive ring would be suitable for a man or a woman. It is perfect for any snake lover and would make a special addition to any collection!

Measurements: The ring has a large finger size of 8.75, but could be resized. The overall pennyweight of the piece is 7.5dwt.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the yellow gold setting. All four rubies and diamonds are intact.
