Victorian 18kt Serpent Bangle Bracelet w/ Diamonds
A beautiful and unusual hand wrought gold bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! The piece, which is made of 18kt yellow gold, is comprised of a hand wrought body of a serpent which coils around your wrist. The exterior of the body is wonderfully decorated with very a ornate flowing floral design which gives the piece a rich, textured appearance. Representing the eyes of the serpent are 2 old Rose Cut diamonds and a curled tongue can be found in its open mouth. The bracelet is magnificently detailed with the entire surface being textured and a hollow inside. The bracelet is hinged and clasps on the side and has a safety clasp for added security. The clasp tongue is stamped "750". It's a stunning piece with a very unusual look and would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurement: The opening of the bracelet (where your wrist would rest) measures approximately 2 1/4" wide and 1 7/8" tall. The surface ranges in width from 7/8" wide to "1/2.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Because the bracelet is hollow inside and very light in weight, there are a few very minor spots that are pushed in slightly. None of which are very noticeable when worn. Besides these minor dings, there is no serious damage to the gold and the clasp and safety chain is secure and in good working condition.
