Victorian 18kt/Sterling Garnet Cabochon + Rose Cut Diamond Flower Pin/Pendant
A truly exceptional garnet and diamond pin/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in sterling silver topped 18kt yellow gold, this incredible piece adorns a relatively large pear-shaped garnet cabochon at the center of an ornate setting. The stunning stone rests in a closed back bezel setting, allowing its smooth surface to beautifully reflect the light, subtly showcasing the deep, rich red color. Adorning the top of the garnet is an incredible 3-dimensional display of a diamond encrusted floral design, creating a sparkling and elegant appeal. Each leaf and flower is decorated with various sized old Rose Cut diamonds, with facets that catch the light brilliantly with every turn. The back of the piece reveals a smoothly polished yellow gold finish, along with a vertical bar pin, clasp, and hidden round bail at the top. A stunning and very special statement piece, it would make an wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pin/pendant measures approximately 1" long, slightly more than 3/4" wide, and is about 1/2" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver topped gold setting. The garnet and all of the diamonds are intact and securely set. The bar pin, clasp, and bail are secure and in good working condition.
