Victorian 18kt/Sterling Mine Cut Diamond Earrings 2.17ctw
An absolutely exquisite pair of mixed metals diamond earrings from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! These lovely earrings are crafted in 18kt yellow gold and sterling silver, and display a simple yet stunning design. Each earring adorns a beautiful old Mine Cut diamond that rests in the center of a gorgeous multi-prong setting. One of the stones weighs 1.10ct, exhibiting M/N color and I1 clarity, while the other weighs 1.07ct, displaying L/M color and I1 clarity. The sparkling stones have a combined carat weight of 2.17ctw, catching the light beautifully with every turn. The natural darkened patina on the silver showcases the brightness of each diamond, and resting at the top is a 18kt yellow gold wire which clasps at the base, allowing them to dangle with lovely movement. The earrings were appraised by an independent and accredited GIA-certified Graduate Gemologist in June 2019, and have a stated retail replacement value of $12,500.00. The earrings frame the face beautifully, and are perfect for both daily wear and special occasions. They would make a timeless addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 5/8" long, and measures a little less than 3/8" wide, and is about 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and sterling silver setting. Both diamonds are intact and securely set. The earring wires and hinged clasps are intact and in good working condition.
