Victorian 9kt Banded Agate Link Convertible 3 Bracelet/Necklace Set
A very unique compilation piece from the Victorian (1880s) era! Displaying a variety of muted rainbow shades against beautiful 9kt yellow gold, this fabulous piece can be worn as either a necklace or a complementary trio of bracelets! Multicolored faceted cylinders of banded agate, each capped with a fitted gold mount, alternate with carved spheres, carrying the entire length of the necklace. When connected as a single strand, the piece secures at an engraved 9kt shield-shaped padlock adorned with a speckled red agate, its handle discretely acting as the clasp. Two agate strands feature a gold spring ring clasp on one end and a jump ring on the other, allowing them to be secured and worn as two separate bracelets. The remaining strand, which differs slightly in design, displays a lovely foliate engraved design on its agate cylinder's end caps, and ends with a jump ring on each side. The lock, fitted with a glass insert to protect a special photo, may be used to secure this strand to itself or complete the necklace design. This versatile and truly distinctive piece would be a wonderful addition to any agate lover's collection!
Measurements: If worn as a necklace, the overall length measures 24". The engraved strand measures 7 3/4" while the other two strands measure 8". The lock measures 7/8" for the main structure, 1 3/8" including the hinge and handle, 7/8" at its widest point, and nearly 3/8" deep.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. All of the agate stones are intact and securely set. The spring rings show minor evidence of wear but are secure and in good working condition. The padlock and locket face are secure and in good working order.
