A gorgeous miniature magnifying glass pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This unusual piece is crafted in 9kt rose gold and features a working magnification lens hidden within the base, which was likely used as a jeweler's loupe. The teardrop-shaped pendant is double-sided with beautiful etching gracing both surfaces, adding wonderful texture to the design. Decorating one side is a lovely etched phrase, "C to C" in a beautiful script, and the other side features a simple diamond-shaped motif at the center of etched details. Two delicate round notches along the edge of pendant allows the bezel-set glass lens to be pulled out and then seamlessly hidden back into the pendant. Finishing the design is a simple round bail attached at the top, perfect for hanging from a favorite chain. An incredibly unique Victorian pendant, it would make a special keepsake addition to any jewelry collection!

Measurements: The pendant measures approximately 1" long (including the bail at the top), is slightly less than 1/2" wide, and is 1/8" thick. When the glass lens is fully extended, the pendant measures about 1 3/8" long, and the bezel set glass measures 3/8" in diameter.

Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the rose gold setting. The bail and riveted lens mechanism are secure and in good working condition. There are a few surface scratches to one side of the glass lens, however it is not noticeable when worn.
