Victorian Austro-Hungarian Silver Blue Enamel + Seed Pearl Bangle Bracelet
A beautiful and unique bangle bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) period! Austro-Hungarian in origin, this lovely piece is crafted in .750 silver and features gorgeous blue enameling, which covers the entire surface, and a beautiful hand etched design at the center. The design displays an image of an elaborate vine adorned with ivy leaves that surrounds an oval shape lined with 13 delicate seed pearls. The hand etched design stands out beautifully against the vibrant blue enameling, creating a wonderful, eye-catching appeal. The bracelet is hinged and clasps at the side at a decorative etched silver clasp stamped with an Austro-Hungarian hallmark of a lion head and the number 4 (indicating it's silver purity); additionally, the interior is stamped "MS" and "9." A very special Victorian piece, it merges perfectly into modern day fashion and would look fabulous worn alone or stacked with a group of similar bracelets!
Measurements: The inside of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures approximately 2 1/8" wide and about 1 3/4" tall. The surface is approximately 5/8" wide 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver setting. The blue enameled surface is in excellent condition, however there are a few very light surface cracks or scratches, which are not noticeable when worn and do not detract from the overall beauty of the piece. All of the pearls are intact and securely set. The clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition.
