Victorian English 18kt Sapphire + Diamond Ring
A beautiful gemstone ring from the early Victorian (ca1865) era! This lovely piece is crafted in 18kt yellow gold and features a row of gorgeous sapphires and diamonds across the front. The prong set sapphires are oval in shape and graduate in size, with the largest stone resting in the center. The stones are faceted and exhibit a wonderful cornflower blue hue, catching the light beautifully with every turn. Four old Rose Cut accent diamonds rest vertically between the sapphires, adding a lovely sparkling detail to the design and carved scrolls and swirls decorate the shoulders. Stamped inside the shank are several English hallmarks including an "18" gold purity mark, a crown, an anchor (indicating the piece was assayed in Birmingham), and the date letter "Q" dating this piece to 1865, beside a "CCH" maker's mark. A wonderful everyday piece, this gorgeous Victorian ring would make a stunning addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 5.75, but could be easily resized. The sapphire and diamond centerpiece measures approximately 5/8" wide, 1/4" long and rests 1/8" above the finger when worn. The band measures 2mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the yellow gold setting. All of the sapphire and diamonds are intact and securely set.
