The snake has been a powerful image since the Victorian era and continues to be popular even in modern jewelry. It has been an inspiration for jewelry design for ages, often used to symbolize eternity, everlasting love, life and protection.

A gorgeous snake bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era. Comprised of 15kt yellow gold, this beautiful piece has an ornate hand etched body that wraps around your wrist. The head of the snake is decorated with a single cabochon garnet in the shape of a tear drop and two small emeralds that represents its eyes. The snake's mouth rests open to reveal his 'charming' gold fangs. The bracelet has 3 separate hinges in the body which makes it easy to take on and off. An unusual piece that would look great worn alone or in a group of gold bangles!

Measurements: The opening where a wrist would rest measures approximately 2" wide and 1 3/4" tall. The body of the snake ranges in width from 1/4" at the end of the tail to 1/2" where the head of the snake is. The bracelet is approximately 1/4" thick. The tear drop shaped garnet measure 1/2" long and 5/16" at the widest point.

Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. There are no apparent dents or scratches to the gold and the 3 hinged sections move freely but securely. There is no damage to the garnet, however there looks to be a very small chip in the corner of one of the emerald stones, which is hardly noticeable.
