Victorian French 18kt + Seed Pearl "Souvenir" Bangle Bracelet
This stylish and unusual bangle bracelet from the Victorian era (ca1880) is of French origin! Crafted in 18kt gold, the piece is decorated with raised letters that spell the word "Souvenir" (French for "Memory"). The raised calligraphy letters stand out nicely against the smooth background, and are lined with delicate natural seed pearls, a wonderful finishing touch. The bracelet is hinged, opening at a secure push clasp at the side. Stamped on the tongue of the clasp are several small hallmarks, including an "18k" gold purity mark and two French export marks. A very versatile everyday piece, it could be stacked with other bangles for a layered look, or worn as a stand-alone piece. The style blends effortlessly into modern day fashion, and would make a striking addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The inside of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures 2 3/8" wide and approximately 2" tall. This bracelet would fit nicely on a medium/average sized wrist. The surface of the bracelet is approximately 3/4" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or raised letters. All of the natural seed pearls are intact. The push clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition.
