Feldspars are a family of rock-forming minerals which make up as much as 60% of the Earth's crust. Feldspars crystalize from magma as veins and are present in many types of metamorphic rock as well as sedimentary rock. The Feldspar family includes moonstones, amazonite and labradorite.

The acorn is a traditional good luck emblem that has long been considered a symbol of strength, prosperity, patience, renewal, and growth. These attributes are partially inspired by nature itself; a mighty oak tree grows from a tiny acorn, giving significance not only to the tree, but to the seed itself.  Acorns became a popular jewelry motif dating back to the early Victorian era, and are often depicted in a wonderful range of materials and styles. Their beautiful renderings and sentimental symbolism are still valued in the modern day, making antique acorn jewelry very special!

A charming pair of feldspar acorn earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! These unique earrings are hand carved, each depicting an artistic 3-dimensional acorn. The acorns have an iridescent appearance with a pearlized white sheen, which can be difficult to capture in an image, but is very striking in person. The earrings hang from gold-filled wires attached to carved feldspar ball toppers. A wonderful pair of handmade earrings, they have swingy movement when worn and would compliment any jewelry collection!

Measurements: The earrings hang a approximately 2 1/4" long and measure 1/2" at the widest and thickest point.

Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is very good. There is some minor surface wear to the surface of the feldspar, which is normal for a Victorian era piece, and there are no chips or deep scratches. The gold-filled earring wires are secure and intact.
