Victorian Huge Sterling & Turquoise Horseshoe Necklace
A fabulous horseshoe necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era. Made of sterling silver, the piece is comprised of a huge turquoise horseshoe that hangs from a silver chain. The entire front of the horseshoe is adorned with pavé set turquoise cabochons, which graduate slightly in size and have a wonderful range of natural green and blue colors. The chain is accented with several sterling balls throughout and fastens in the back with at a simple spring ring clasp. When worn, it hangs long and makes a very fashionable statement! Perfect for the equestrian enthusiast or lover of turquoise, it would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
Measurements: The horseshoe measures 2" long, 1 17/8" at the widest point and 3/8 thick". The entire length of the necklace measures approximately 31" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the horseshoe necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting or turquoise stones, all of which are intact. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
