Victorian Large 14kt Banded Agate + Rose Cut Diamond Starburst Ring
A stunning banded agate ring from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 14kt yellow gold, this gorgeous conversion piece adorns a relatively large oval-shaped agate centerpiece that now rests at the center of a modern band. The smoothly polished cabochon exhibits a rich, deep brown hue with natural creamy white banding that wraps around the base. A lovely 6-point gold star is riveted into the center of the stone, embellished with an old Rose Cut diamond set in the middle. The agate rests in a bezel setting which is framed by a border of delicate beadwork and encircled by larger gold beads, creating a wonderful eye-catching design. The centerpiece rests on a smoothly polished band that graduates slightly towards the back and stamped inside of the shank is a "585" gold purity mark. A fantastic Victorian piece, this ring would make a fabulous statement when worn day or night!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 6.75 but could be resized. The centerpiece measures about 1" tall, 7/8" wide, and rests about 3/8" above the finger when worn. The graduated band measures 2mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or any chips or scratches to the agate stone. The diamond is intact and securely set.
