A fabulous mixed metal etched locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! The wonderful piece is made of sterling silver, and carries an unusual and ornate mixed metals design on the front. In the shape of an urn, the locket is particularly large in size and looks to have had a silver gilt finish. In the center of the piece is a raised, 9kt yellow and rose gold floral design, which is accented with etched details. The inside of the locket opens to reveal 2 spaces for your favorite photographs. A complementary fluted bail rests at the top of the piece and is large in size and perfect to fit on a thick Victorian chain. It is a wonderful example of Victorian artistry and would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: The locket hangs approximately 2 1/2" long, is slightly more than 1 3/8" at its widest point, and just under 1/4" at its thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the piece and the locket closes easily and stays securely closed.
