Victorian Petite Sterling + Turquoise Horseshoe Necklace 18"
A wonderful horseshoe necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This lovely equestrian piece is crafted in sterling silver, and consists of a petite horseshoe pendant that hangs from a fine chain. A row of delicate turquoise stones line the surface of the horseshoe, exhibiting a vibrant natural shade of blue that is simply stunning! Attached to the pendant is a fine blackened silver chain, the perfect compliment to the darkened silver setting of the horseshoe's surface. The chain fastens securely with a lobster clasp in the back, stamped with a "925" purity mark. When worn, the pendant hangs nicely below the neckline, a perfect length for layering with other complimentary necklaces if desired. This stylish everyday piece would be right at home in any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures 18" in total length. The horseshoe pendant is 3/4" tall, 5/8" wide, and 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting. All of the turquoise stones are intact, securely set, and free of chips. The chain is securely attached, and the lobster clasp is in good working condition. The back of the horseshoe is polished for a bright silver finish, but shows some faint signs of color variation, where it may have originally been gilded.
