Absolutely exquisite sapphire and diamond earrings from the Victorian (ca1890) era! These gorgeous earrings are set in 14k rosy yellow gold, and each earring features an oval-cut sapphire that rests in the center of a border of sparkling old mine cut diamonds. The deep blue sapphires are prong set and have an estimated total weight of approximately 6.16ctw, combined. Surrounding each sapphire are 12 sparkling old European Cut diamonds in prong settings with two additional diamonds at the surmounts (26, total). The diamonds have a total weight of approximately 3.30ct with E-G range color and VS2-I1 range clarity. The back of each earring reveals a post back with secure, hinged lever style clips in gold. The backs are stamped with several Russian hallmarks including the St. Petersburg town mark, the number 56 for 14k gold, and a maker's mark that reads AT for Alexander Edward Tillander (1837-1918). Accompanying the earrings is a recent appraisal completed by a GIA Graduate Gemologist in March of 2021 with an estimated retail replacement value of $30,000. Both feminine and classically beautiful, these gorgeous earrings would look lovely worn everyday or for special occasions and would make any collection complete!
