Victorian Silver-Topped 15kt Pavé Persian Turquoise Bird Pin
This turquoise bird pin is a beautiful piece from the Victorian (ca1880) period! The pin is made of silver-topped 15kt yellow gold (indicating English origin) and portrays a bird in flight with a 3-dimensional look. A beautiful ensemble of natural blue and green Persian turquoise stones cover the entire front surface of the piece in a pavé (French for "pavement") setting. The wings, neck and tail are outstretched, and two delicate pink cabochon stones represent the bird's eyes. The underside of the piece reveals a gorgeous etched design with detailed individual feathers, and a hinged gold bar pin and c-catch clasp. A beautiful work of art, this wonderful pin would look lovely worn on a favorite garment or lapel and is perfect for the turquoise lover!
Measurements: The bird pin measures 1 1/8" tall (from beak to tail), 1 5/8" wide (from wing to wing) and is 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver-topped gold setting or to any of the turquoise stones, all of which are intact. The pin clasp is secure and in good working condition.
