Victorian Silver-Topped 9kt Pavé Turquoise Petite Mouse Pin
A very unusual and adorable turquoise pin from the Victorian (ca1880s) period! This fun piece is crafted in silver-topped 9kt yellow gold and portrays the 3-dimensional body of a mouse. A stunning ensemble of natural blue and green turquoise stones cover the entire surface of the piece in a pavé (French for "pavement") setting. The charming mouse has realistic features, including an elongated body, large, pointed ears, a blunt snout and a long tail that curves along its side. Two delicate garnet stones represent the eyes and the underside reveals a hinged bar pin and c-catch clasp. A beautiful work of art, this wonderful pin would look lovely worn on a favorite garment or lapel. It can also be changed in to a pendant with a small hidden bail if you wish. It is perfect piece for the turquoise lover!
Measurements: The mouse pin measures slightly less than 1 3/8" wide (from nose to tail), 1 1/2" wide, and has a depth of a little less than 1/2".
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver-topped gold setting and the pin clasp is secure and in good working condition. All of the stones are securely set, however, there does appear to be couple replacement turquoise stones, which is not unusual given the age of the piece.
