Victorian Sterling + 14k Hanging Urn Earrings

SKU: 45478

A beautiful pair of hanging urn earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each of these wonderful earrings is crafted in vibrant sterling silver with rosy 14k gold accents. The smooth, 3-dimensional urns have a puffed "torpedo" design, with angular handles at either side, and a tapered, slender neck. The urns are decorated with floral etching on the fronts and rope-like detail around the top. They dangle freely from gold Grecian-style surmounts, which are attached to sterling bead and gold wire toppers. Thanks to their hollow design, the urns are quite lightweight and very comfortable to wear. They frame the face beautifully and swing with lovely movement when worn. A wonderful everyday Victorian accessory, they would make a special addition to any antique collection!

Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 1/8" long, including the wire surmounts at the top. The urns themselves measure 1 1/4" tall, 1/2" wide, and 1/2" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling and gold setting. The earring wires and handle attachments are secure and intact. The surface of the setting has a slight natural patina, which is normal for Victorian era jewelry, adds to the richness of of the appearance.
