Victorian Sterling/14kt Diamond Star Pendant 3.50ctw
An absolutely gorgeous diamond star pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful piece is particularly large in size and depicts a sparkling 5-point star. Crafted in sterling topped 14kt yellow gold, the star is detailed with 20 old Mine Cut diamonds, which surround a larger center stone. The center stone weighs approximately 0.85ct and the overall diamond weight of the piece is 3.50ctw combined, sparkling brilliantly in the light with every turn. The stunning center diamond is set in an ornate buttercup setting while the other stones are prong set and lined with a feminine milgrain border. The pendant displays a wonderful convex shape, giving it a subtle 3-dimensional design that hangs from a hidden bail on the back. An exquisite piece that makes a stunning statement when worn, it would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 1 1/2” long, a little more than 1 1/2” wide, and is 3/8" deep.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling and gold setting. All of the diamonds are intact and securely set. The bail is secure and in good working order.
