A beautiful French paste fox ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This lovely piece was originally an antique stick pin, and has since been converted into a unique and wearable ring. The fox is crafted in sterling silver and has a fantastic vintage appearance and charming face. The fox head is beautifully detailed and encrusted with delicate French paste stones, giving the piece a lovely sparkle with every turn. Two small rubies represent its eyes, and engraved detail accents its nose, slightly parted mouth, and brows. The fox head rests atop a modern 14kt yellow gold band, which is left simple and smooth. A fantastic example of Victorian conversion jewelry, this wonderful ring would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 6.5, but could be re-sized as desired. The fox head measures 3/8" wide and tall, and has a depth of a little more than 1/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver and gold setting, and all of the paste stones and rubies are intact. Because the French paste stones are closed back, there is some slight color variation throughout in the stones, however, nothing which is particularly noticeable when the ring is worn.
