Victorian Sterling/15kt Turquoise Diamond Double Horseshoe Necklace

SKU: 40411

An exquisite double horseshoe necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This gorgeous conversion piece was once a Victorian pin that has now been transformed into a beautiful pendant, which hangs from a modern 14kt yellow gold chain. The pendant, which is crafted in sterling topped 15kt gold, has a unique design formed by two overlapping horseshoes, each lined with Persian turquoise stones and sparkling old Rose Cut diamonds. The cabochon turquoise stones line the outside of each horseshoe while the diamonds carry along the inside, creating a spectacular design. All of the prong set stones graduate slightly in size, with the largest resting at the base of the horseshoes and the stunning vivid blue turquoise looks perfect paired with the enchanting diamonds. A modern yellow gold chain completes the design, attaching at both horseshoe tips and fastening in the back with a simple spring clasp. A stunning piece, it is perfect for the equestrian enthusiast and would look wonderful worn everyday!

Measurements: The necklace measures 15.5" in total length. The horseshoe pendant hangs 1" long and is 1 1/8" wide.

Condition: The necklace is excellent antique condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling topped gold setting or to the gold chain or clasp, which is secure and in good working condition. It appears that a few of the turquoise stones may have been replaced, one possibly with blue glass, however, this is not noticeable when worn. Additionally, due to the nature of old Rose Cut diamonds, the stones are not uniform in shape, cut and color, and show natural variation that adds to their unique and beautiful appearance. Otherwise, all of the diamonds and turquoise stones are intact.
