Victorian Sterling Closed Back Rose Cut Diamond Cluster Earrings
A gorgeous pair of hanging diamond earrings from the early Victorian (ca1850) era! These beautiful earrings are made of sterling silver and feature a wonderful cluster design comprised of closed back old Rose Cut diamonds. At the center of the cluster is the largest Rose Cut diamond, which is bezel set and surrounded by a halo of 8 additional stones, also in a bezel setting. The diamonds look simply lovely and rest within a silver setting that is reminiscent of an exaggerated buttercup setting. Each earring is topped with a single Rose Cut diamond topper, where the European style earring wire clasps. A stunning pair of Victorian earrings, they would be suitable for everyday wear or special occasions, and would make an exceptional addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each diamond earring hangs approximately 7/8" long, are 5/8" wide, and 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is great. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the sterling setting, and the earring wires are secure and in good working condition. Due to the hand cut nature of old Rose Cut diamonds, the shape of the stones do not have perfect symmetry. This reflects the age and genuine appearance of antique diamonds.
