Victorian Sterling & Inlaid Agate Clover Perfume Bottle
A fabulous piece from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This sterling silver etched perfume bottle has wonderful detail and is an exceptionally large size. A lovely etched design covers the entire front of the bottle and 3 green clovers are incorporated within the design. The clover leaves are represented by green agate stones that are inlaid in the surface of the silver. On top of the vessel, on both sides, are two silver rings which connect to a fairly short silver chain. The top of the sterling bottle unscrews easily which is where a woman would have put her favorite perfume. The topper shares a complimentary repousse clover design. On the side of the bottle topper are 3 English hallmarks and 3 initials that appear to read "W.B.L.". This wonderful piece would look great hanging from a long sterling chain and would make a beautiful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The scent bottle measures approximately 2 1/2" tall, 1 1/4" at the widest point, and 3/4" at the deepest point. The sterling chain measures approximately 1 1/2" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the scent bottle is excellent. There are no significant dents or scratches in the silver and the bottle topper screws on easily and securely. There is normal wear to the surface of the silver which is not uncommon for a piece of this age.
