Victorian Sterling Rock Crystal Double-Sided Heart Locket Pendant
A beautiful and romantic heart locket pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This unique double-sided piece features a sterling silver encasement, which holds two heart-shaped rock crystal plaques inside. The smoothly polished hearts act as a window, allowing a photo or object inside to be showcased on the surface of both sides. An elongated bail at the top is creatively incorporated into the design, and when unscrewed, releases the hinged encasement to open and allows the wearer to customize the piece, if desired. An endearing Victorian piece that blends seamlessly into modern day fashion, it looks equally fabulous worn alone or displaying a special image or keepsake inside. It would make a perfect everyday accessory!
Measurements: The locket pendant hangs a little more than 1 3/4 long (including the bail at the top), measures a little more than 1" wide, and is 1/2" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to sterling setting and the screw top bail is secure and in good working order. There is a very small fracture at the bottom tip of one side of the rock crystal plaques, which is hardly noticeable due to the size and location. Besides this minor fracture, both rock crystal hearts remain in excellent condition.
